The beginning…

The second before, she was crying, sailing in the sunset, the sea rebelling against the hull.
A green flash ; she ate the wave.
Drowning, swallowing her sorrow, she blinked. Suddenly she was levitating above the water.

This text is my submission to this weekend Trifecta writing challenge : Trifextra: Week Sixty-six.

Here is the challenge :

This weekend we’re having some fun with the prompt, some super-powered fun, that is. We’re asking you to write the origin story to the superhero of your choice in exactly 33 words.

It’s the very first beginning of the story… just discovering her super-powers.

  1. This is intriguing…I like how she ate the wave, and then was swallowing her sorrow.

    • The wave ate her and she ate the wave. The contact was violent, her pain too… I could write an extended version of this if I had time but I like an atmosphere of mystery around a super-hero…

      Thank you for the comment!

  2. I always liked the idea of superpowers kicking in right when one needs them (:

    • Yes! And I always feel like a character who experienced pain and problems can be truly empathic then he/she can care enough about people to behave in a heroic way.

      Than you for your comment!

  3. Great in atmosphere.. I like
