Founded in 2002 by Mark Johnson and Whitney Kroenke, Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement that wants to connect the world through music. They started down the streets in the United States in search of musical meetings, which allowed them to make the documentary “A cinematic discovery of street musicians.” Then, the world became their playground and they started recording and filming musicians they met in their travels around the world, thus creating the “Songs around the World“.

They have reunited on stage some of these musicians from varied cultures and  origins to create the Playing for Change band which is now touring the world.

PFC also created the Playing For Change Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building of music and art schools and creating educational programs worldwide.
